about dha

DHA Architecture Ltd is a leading specialist practice in the field of Residential Architecture; delivering projects for all of the major national housebuilders as well as more regional developers. The company carries out work that would loosely fit within the RIBA work stages 0-3 although the contents of these formal stages are not recognised or followed by the Housebuilding industry. It is perhaps more accurate to say that the company carries out design work ‘from project inception to detailed planning permission’  for project sizes generally from 30 homes up to 2,500 homes, although occasional large ‘one-off’ house commissions are accepted.

The company will design offices, retail outlets, light industrial units, community buildings, retirement homes, medical facilities etc but only where these building uses are associated with large scale housing developments.

it all started when…

The company’s genesis was late in 1991 forming the Architectural arm of a dual discipline Architectural and Engineering practice called Derek Homer Associates – the practice had a management team made up of former Technical and Design Directors from the highly respected housebuilder, Charles Church Developments Limited.

Over the following few years the Architectural and Engineering disciplines grew and this growth lead to a natural division of the original practice into single discipline separate practices in 1995 with the architectural discipline becoming DHA Architecture, a company owned and run by current Managing Director, David Skilton.

The company was incorporated in May 2000 and organically grew over the years. Early in 2015 it was decided to focus the activities of the company on the Planning and Design elements of Architecture.

The company was impacted by the recent pandemic but has recovered quickly and is positively looking towards the future. The order book of new projects is extremely positive and the relationships with existing clients is strong. DHA Architecture has never advertised but ‘word of mouth’ and migrating relationships has meant an expanding client base.
